Jackie Rosebutch Presents: The Last Safe Place, A Queer Argument for Caretaking Our Environment

  • Windsor Ballroom 415 North Last Chance Gulch Helena, MT, 59601 United States (map)

Queer people and nature have a tight, almost mycelial connection to each other. In this talk and discussion, Jackie Rosebutch, a drag Goddex and environmental science nerd, will look into how queer people find safety, solace, and connection in nature. The importance of nature to the queer experience creates an urgent case for environmental protections, especially as both the rights of queer people and nature are under attack. We will discuss what it means to caretake the environment through the lens of queer identity, joy, and pride.

Jackie Rosebutch is an Environmental Science & Sustainability alum of the University of Montana. Their Instagram and TikTok is @goddex_rosebutch, where they create and post videos about all things environmental science.
