In 1993, in Helena, the bravest of our community got together and held the first Pride in Montana. They weren’t welcomed with open arms. They were met with protests and anger and objects thrown at them. They were not welcome.
Here we are 30 years later, and while we’re more welcome, we are still under attack. We’ve got a lot of things we still need to stand up and fight for, and we’re committed to doing so.
But for a few days this summer, let’s celebrate all we have accomplished, and all the great things we are.
